Continental continues to surpass each prior year in success and growth, especially within the last three years. The most significant contributor to Continental’s explosive growth has been through SPACs. SPACs (Special Purpose Acquisition Companies) are public corporations newly formed by sponsors specifically for the purpose of raising capital in an Initial Public Offering (IPO), and using the proceeds to engineer a business combination by acquiring one or more targeted private companies.
As the industry-leading SPAC administrator since 2003, Continental has handled over 95% of the SPACs brought to market over the past 19 years. Likewise, we have handled 60% of the U. S. IPOs over the past three years. This is a testament to our proprietary platforms for handling the complex business combination/redemption stage, and for oversight of the hundreds of customer trust accounts.
Although the pandemic has been a challenging time, Continental was fortunate to maintain, and even increase, experienced staff throughout these last few years. Continental expanded its staff by more than 80% to best serve our ever-expanding list of clients. We now provide transfer agent services to over 1,500 transfer agent customers, including 135 cross-border issuers, and manage 1.7 million shareholder accounts. Continental’s customers value our professional expertise, our advanced proprietary platforms, and our relentless commitment to innovation and customer service.
